Speaking Up Level 2
This accredited course offering personal development in Active Citizenship will be re-running in September 2010. Visit www.takepartexeter.org and click on 'Radio Shows' to hear interviews with learners on the current course - parents from Beacon Heath children's centre - who have recently visited Parliament as part of their training.
Taking a Lead in Your Community: May and September
Following a successful pilot programme in early 2010, these free courses are for anyone in Exeter who is taking part in their community and wants to see more happen; or for those who want to see how they could make a difference themselves – all on a voluntary basis.
The full programme will run September-December (taster session 7 Sep), with a condensed version running May-July (taster session 18 May).
Finding Out What Magistrates Do
On Friday 10 and Sat 25 September, we are running a three-hour introduction to the role of magistrates, and how you could become one. Includes the opportunity of judging cases in a mock ‘bench’ of magistrates.
Visit www.takepartexeter.org and click on 'Take Part TV' to see a video of a previous workshop.
Finding Out What the Police Authority Does
Coming soon - a workshop about the work of the Police Authority, and how you can get involved as a citizen governor supporting them.
